Washington D.C. 2010 Itinerary Wednesday, October 27th Arrive at Harmon- 6am Depart- 6:30am Rest Stop- 8:30-9am Lunch at Breezewood- 11amBusses divided among fast food restaurants: McDonald’s, Wendy’s, Subway, Pizza Hut, Domino’s, Dairy Queen Arrive D.C.- 2:30pm -Visit Monuments 2:30-5:30pm: Busses will rotate around WWII /Washington (not going up this year), Jefferson, FDR, Korea/Lincoln/Vietnam (Einstein for a group photo), White House photo stop… This is prime time for kids to get the photos and written observations they need for their Social Studies DC Close Up Project which will focus for each student on a specific monument or memorial and theme. Dinner at Reagan Center Food Court (Voucher)- 5:45-6:30pm Night Tour- 6:45-8pmWWII, Jefferson, and Lincoln / Korea Check in National 4H Center- 8:30-9pm Thursday, October 28th 6am Wake Up- Dismissed from Rooms-7am Breakfast at National 4H Center Cafeteria- 7am-7:45am Depart for Arlington- 8am Marine Corps War Memorial Arlington- Kennedy Graves / Arlington House Tomb of the Unknowns, Changing of the Guard- 9 or 10am WWII Wreath Laying Ceremony – 11am- 11:30am Group Photo at Grant Memorial / Capitol Reflecting Pool –11:45- 12 noon Museum Visits / Lunch/ Pentagon 12:30- 5:30pm 3 Busses will start at the Pentagon City Mall food court for Lunch (Voucher) then tour the Pentagon and return to visit 2 Smithsonians: The National Museum of American History and the Smithsonian Natural History Museum.
